According to Korean media reports, Samsung Display officially launched a project to convert the TV LCD7-2 production line in Tangjing to an OLED panel production line.

Samsung Display plans to complete the dismantling of the original production line before July 20, and then build a six-generation small and medium-sized OLED panel production line. The investment in this project is expected to be as high as 17 billion yuan. It is expected that after the production line transformation is completed, the monthly production capacity can reach 30,000, and the production capacity of small and medium-sized OLED panels of Samsung Display will also increase from 165,000 to 195,000 per month.
It is understood that Samsung Display stated as early as March 2020 that it would "end all LCD panel production lines by the end of the year" and intend to focus on more advanced technologies. However, by the end of 2020, it decided to continue to produce LCD panels in South Korea. At least until the first quarter of 2021, and did not specify when to stop production, and did not further elaborate on the plan.
